Helsinki–Kyiv was presented as a solo exhibition at Myymälä2 in Helsinki (April 8–19, 2026) and developed during my residency in Finland as an exploration of visual and emotional parallels between the two cities.
Developed during the residency period, the project grew into a series of 58 works. The exhibition itself included 23 watercolors and 12 monotypes presented in paired dialogues between Helsinki and Kyiv.
The project brings together watercolor and monotype works arranged in pairs: one image from Helsinki alongside one from Kyiv .
Power plants, tram lines, railway stations, streets, and public spaces become points of connection between different urban realities. Some works emerged directly from observation, others from memory and association. While working in Helsinki, I repeatedly encountered details that recalled unfinished Kyiv subjects and earlier cycles such as Ljutyj 2022 and #KyivCityExpress. The exhibition reflects on continuity, infrastructure, and the fragile normality of everyday life — on the systems, movements, and acts of labor that quietly sustain the city and human resilience.
